Areeba Mustaq, a 24-year-old woman, has faced numerous challenges in her life due to her diagnosis of hysteria and associated cognitive issues. Growing up in a supportive family, with her mother Shazia and father M. Mustaq, Areeba struggled with slow learning, a short memory span of less than ten minutes, and emotional difficulties that included crying spells and disproportionate responses to situations.
Despite these obstacles, Areeba showed remarkable strengths, particularly in her fine and gross motor skills, as well as maintaining eye contact during conversation. Recognizing her needs, Eilya Foundation stepped in to provide Areeba with essential support, offering behavioral therapy, counseling sessions, and occupational therapy.
The foundation implemented role play activities and group sessions that fostered social skills and enhanced her ability to communicate effectively. Through this tailored support, Areeba made significant improvements, learning to interact respectfully with her teachers and gaining stability in her mood.
Today, Areeba stands as a testament to resilience and growth, demonstrating how the dedicated efforts of Eilya Foundation have transformed her life, empowering her to navigate her challenges with newfound confidence and a brighter outlook for the future. She has developed a better understanding of her social challenges, resulting in a reduction of attention-seeking behaviors and an overall improved quality of life.
