Awais joined the Eilya Care Foundation a year and a half ago at the age of 21. He had significant challenges, including a speech impairment and hearing issues. When he arrived, he couldn’t understand anything without gestures or signs and was fully dependent on his family.

He struggled with basic tasks, like putting on his shoes, and his mental state was comparable to that of a child. His behaviour was aggressive, and he found it difficult to connect with others.

However, since joining the care home, Awais has made remarkable progress. Now 23 years old, he has received dedicated care and attention from the staff. With consistent therapy, he has learned to understand conversations without relying solely on gestures. He has started to speak a little and can now tie his own shoelaces.

His behaviour has transformed; he has become much friendlier, with a significant reduction in aggression. Awais now interacts positively with others and has developed good habits. He actively shares things with his classmates and has learned many social manners. In just a year and a half, Awais has made impressive strides in his recovery and independence.
